SUGARAY RAYFORD

Phoenix, AZ - USA

A man in a hat is singing into a microphone.

A “soul tsunami” of full powered blues, jammed with “grit and groove,” the Sugaray Rayford band returns to command the PwF stage. This Grammy-nominated American soul, blues singer, and songwriter has racked up several significant noms and nods since his last visit. Combining classic soul melodies with funky R&B grooves, raw blues power, and mashed up with modern sensibilities, Somebody Save Me earned Rayford a 2020 Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album) and later that year, he took home Blues Music Awards for Soul Blues Male Artist (a repeat of his 2019 win) and B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. American Blues Scene writes, “When it comes to classic soul melodies infused with R&B grooves, a touch of funk, and raw blues power, you gotta love Sugaray.”

EDDIE 9V

Atlanta, GA - USA

A group of men are standing around a pool table.

Atlanta-based singer/songwriter and overall soul-bluesman, 27-year-old Eddie 9V breaks the blues mold. “I studied the older cats,” reflects Eddie, citing Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Freddie King, and Rory Gallagher, “I saw what made them groove and tick.”  It seems his research paid off.  Slaying audiences with his fresh take on throwback blues and soul, Blues Muse says, “Eddie 9V and his mates know how to get the sparks flying, the guitars, drums, horns, and keyboards making a roof-raising ruckus,” but are also adept at creating a slower, “smooth melancholy mood.”
